Troubleshooting FAQs

  1. Attach the magnetic end of the charging cable which comes with the watch package on the charging pad of the watch which is located on the back of the watch and connect the other end to a 5V, 2A rated power adapter or power bank or a computer.

  2. The watch’s display would show the charging status and charging percentage while charging.

Note:

If the watch is connected to a computer USB port for charging, the speed of charging would be less as the power pushed by the USB port of a computer is less than the 5V/2A rated power adapter.

  1. Check if the charging connector behind the watch is clean and rust free.

  2. Try cleaning it with an alchohol swab.

  3. If the problem still persists, kindly replace the product.

Battery charge status is shown on the watch homepage with the percentage of the charge remaining on the watch Wave Electra’s battery. 

  1. Before using the Watch Wave Electra for the first time, please fully charge the smartwatch first.

  2. Charging through wall adapter – Specs of the adapter: 5V, 2A

  3. Any other accessories could be used for charging the Watch Wave Electra as long as the above norms are followed.

boAt Wave Electra needs the boAt Wearables app to be installed on the users’ media devices. It is available on both Google Play Store (Android 7.0 and above) and Apple App Store ( iOS 12.0 and above) to be downloaded and installed into the users’ devices to use and utilize the Wave Electra full

functionality-

Step 1: Via QR Code Scanning

  • Find the QR code on the product manual of Wave Electra for installing the Wearables App on the media devices of the users.

  • Open the QR Code Scanner app on the user’s devices and scan the code present on the user manual of the Wave Electra.

  • Thereafter, follow the on-screen instructions to install the Wearables App on the user’s device.

Step 2: Via searching the App on Google Play or Apple Play Store​

  • On Google Play or Apple App Store, in the search-bar, type ‘boAt Wearables App’ and enter search.

  • You will see the boAt Wearables App in the search result list.

  • Click on the install button to install boAt Wearables App on the user’s media device.

Step 1: After installing the boAt Wearables App, turn the watch on and open the Wearables App on the user’s device.

Click on the ‘Confirm’ on the Wearables App to switch on the Bluetooth on the user’s device.

Step 2: The previous process would enable the user to search for Wave Electra to connect with the Wearables App.

Step 3: Once the Wave Electra is found via Bluetooth, it will show on the

Wearables App.

Click on the Wave Electra Device and then click on the ‘Confirm Bind

Device’ button to start pairing Watch with the boAt Wearables App.

Once the connection is successful all the fitness data stored on the

Watch will sync automatically on the Wearables App.

1. Keep the boAt Wearables app updated to the latest version

2. Close all the programs on the watch → Stop and restart Bluetooth and GPS → Connect again

3. Check and enable notification functions of your phone and keep the phone and watch in close contact.

Note: Make sure your phone system meets Android 7.0 and above and iOS 12.0 and above.

● Check to see if the Wave Electra is within the 7 m distance from the connected media device or not and there are any obstructions in between or not.

● Make sure there is no obstacle between the watch and the phone.

1. Yes, step counting, Heart rate monitoring, calorie count and sports modes can be recorded directly on your watch while your phone is not connected

2. Watch has some internal memory to record this data.

3. Once you are in contact with your phone, you can sync the data to the app.

Make sure smart reminders on the app are on and synced to the watch.

Also make sure your notification center of the phone is displaying messages. Only then will your smartwatch also display those notifications.

Open the music player on your phone, select a song which you want to play, and control from music (play/pause/next/previous/volume up down)

Note 1: Make sure you enable music control from the app first.

Note 2: Make sure the watch is connected with the app.

● In order to sync the data to the boAt Wearables App, connect the Wave Electra to the media device via the Wave app and go to the app’s homepage, drag down the screen. This will start the syncing process and data will be synced to the app

● Make sure you are in Bluetooth range and watch and Wearables app are nearby when you are syncing the data.

● If the app is taking too long to sync or it gets stuck while syncing, unbind the device with the app and reconnect again

Note: Try to sync the data of the app at least once in every 7 days to avoid huge data to be synced in a single go and to avoid any data loss.

  1. We have designed the watch so that the display is active on a slight flick of the wrist.

  2. The tracker may take a second or two to light up the screen.

  3. Check if the device was not subject to any mishandling, broken wires or exposed to direct sunlight or hazards like fire and liquid.

Inside the menu, click on the ‘Music Control’ icon on the watch to enter into the music control feature.

While listening to music, users can play, Pause, move back to the previous track, jump forward to the next track and control the volume of the music.

  1. Make sure you have enabled auto brightness from the watch or the app.

  2. Auto brightness will only work according to time set on the app.

1. Make sure you wear the watch while sleeping in order to track the sleep data.

2. Measure your night sleep automatically. Sleep duration and classification details (Deep, light, REM,Awake)are available on the watch and the app.

3. Sleep will not be recorded if you have sleep time less than 3 hours

4. Sync the watch with the app in the morning to view sleep data

Note: Data might not be recorded correctly if a lot of movement is noticed between 6-8 AM

  1. Check if the user is having hairs, tattoo, skin complexion, scaring, wear the watch too lose or too tight might affect the readings.

  2. Check if the heart rate sensor which is there on the bottom of the watch is glowing in green or not. If the sensor is working properly the sensor should glow in green colour.

  3. Check if the device was not subject to any mishandling, broken wires or exposed to direct sunlight or hazards like fire and liquid.​

Your watch is tracking the movement if your wrist so if you are doing something that requires a lot of hand movement then step count can be affected.

Blood pressure monitoring is only for the reference, data may not match with the medical equipment. This watch is not a medical grade equipment.

Yes, the Wave Electra has a camera control feature

There are 100+ sports modes on the watch.

The green lights are used to monitor your heart rate.

There is an optical sensor that detects the passage of the blood and then estimates the heart rate based on that information.

Make sure the screen is not scratched anywhere to avoid screen damage as most of the controls are performed via the touchscreen of the watch. As screens are a delicate part it should be handled with care. Users may apply screen protector on the touchscreen to avoid it from any scratches.

Long press the button located on the side of the Wave Electra, it would lead to turning the watch on

Press the side button → Scroll down and to settings → Tap on power off.

Short pressing the side button would lead to opening the menu

● While the user is inside the menu, tapping the several icons would lead

to entering the different modes on the Wave Electra.

● There are following mode options on the menu of the Wave Electra-

(i) Sport – For tracking the exercises done by the users.

(ii) Phone & BT Calling to access contacts, phone pad and history.

(iii) Heart Rate – For measuring the heart rate of the users.

(iv) Blood Oxygen – For Measuring the saturation level of oxygen (spO2) in

the user’s blood

(v) Stress Monitor - To check stress levels of users and Relax Mode – For

breathing exercise of the users

(vi) Alarm – To set up alarm for the users

(vi) Music Control – To control the music from the watch when the users

are listening to music

(vi) Timer – To set up timer for the users when in need

(vii) Setting – To enter in to the settings of the watch

(viii) Sleep Monitor - To track sleep of users.

(ix) Ambient Sound - To detect noise pollution around users.

(x) Find my Phone - To ring the phone when the user is trying to locate

their phone connected to the watch.

● Select any one of the exercises before starting that particular exercise.

● Press home button to pause/resume that particular exercise

● To stop that particular exercise tracking session, press the home

button and tap on the X icon.

● Alternatively, you can choose/add other sports modes from the app.

1. Inside the menu, click on the ‘Heart Rate’ icon while wearing the watch on the wrist.

2. Bring your wrist close to your heart. This will enable the watch to show the heart rate reading of the user on the watch’s screen.

1. Inside the menu, click on the ‘Blood Oxygen’ icon while wearing the watch on the wrist.

2. Try to hold the arm still. This will enable the watch to show the reading of the spO2 in the blood of the user on the watch’s screen

1. Inside the menu, click on the ‘Guided Breathing’ icon while wearing the watch on the wrist.

2. Choose your preferred time for breath in and breathe out and relax to undergo the breathing exercise.

2. While listening to music, users can play, Pause, move back to the previous track, jump forward to the next track and control the volume of the music.

Step-3: Inside the ‘Setting’ option, select the ‘Brightness’ option.

Step-4: Brightness could be changed as per users required preference.

Tap on Health Data to track activities like – Sleep, Calories Burned, Steps, Distance covered and Health Care Data
