Troubleshooting FAQs

  1. When switched off, press and hold the multifunction button (MFB) for 2 seconds to switch the neckbands On and put them into pairing mode. The neckbands will automatically enter in pairing mode with a prompt; the blue and red LEDs will flash alternatively to indicate the same.

  2. Open Bluetooth on your device and search for ‘Rockerz 280 ANC’ in the list of available devices.

  3. Choose ‘Rockerz 280 ANC’ from the list and if asked, enter the pairing password ‘0000’ / ‘1234’ to establish Bluetooth connectivity.

  4. Once successfully connected, the blue LED flashes once in every 5 seconds to indicate the same.

Note: The neckband automatically turns off after 5 min. if no connection is established within this time.

  1. Ensure the device is in pairing mode – Hold the Multifunction button for 2 seconds until the red and blue LED light on the device starts flashing alternately.

  2. Check if it works after clearing the pairing list on the device, Press and hold the volume "+" button and the volume "-" button for about 5 seconds in standby mode to clear paired list of devices.

  3. The device should be in the range of Bluetooth (usually 10m) and if there are any obstructions in between.

  4. Check if the device being connected to supports Bluetooth connections

  5. In case it is a passcode issue then enter '0000' or '1234'

  6. Check to see if the device being connected to does not have any software issues – Check to forget the device on Bluetooth, update the mobile software

  1. Check if restarting the device resolves the issue.

  2. Factory reset the device.

  3. Check if the same problem happens for different devices and media players.

  4. Check if there are any obstructions between the earphones and the device and clear them- move the device at a closer range to the earphones and see if it still affects it.

  • Rockerz 280 ANC can be connected to 2 devices at once. To enable this feature, following steps are to be taken:

  1. Pair Rockerz 280 ANC neckband earphones with your first media device via Bluetooth.

  2. Turn off both the earphones and the Bluetooth on this device.

  3. Switch on the earphones and the Bluetooth on your second media device to pair.

  4. Finally, switch on the Bluetooth of the first media device again. Congratulations! Your earphones are now connected to both your devices successfully via Bluetooth.

  5. If the earphones are not connected, try connecting the first device manually once again to activate dual pairing.

  1. Check to pair boAt Rockerz 280 ANC to the first phone as per usual pairing procedure. Select “boAt Rockerz 280 ANC” from the list of available Bluetooth devices and then switch off both the earphones and the Bluetooth of the first phone.

  2. After this, switch on the earphones. Then turn on the Bluetooth function of the second phone.

  3. Scan and search the earphone’s pairing name “boAt Rockerz 280 ANC” and pair to the second phone. Then simply switch on the first phone’s Bluetooth.

  4. The earphones should reconnect to the first phone and both phones should now be paired to the earphones.

  5. Check to try dual pairing with other devices to see if it works with them

  • To charge the neckband, plug one end of the USB type-C cable into the neckbands and connect the other end to a computer or wall adapter

  1. Check to see if the charging wire being used is working – check to use another charging wire or try using the wire on another device.

  2. Check if the voltage of the charger is correct for the device, use only 5V 2A chargers.

  3. Check if the charging is done till the red light turns completely blue.

  4. Check if the battery was not tampered with or exposed to any electrical damage.

  5. Check if the charging port is not clogged with dirt. If so, please clean it with a cotton swab.

  6. Please check if the adapter and charging cable support fast charging.

  1. Low Battery : When the remaining talk time is less than 20%, ‘Low Battery’ prompt is made through the neckbands every 10 minutes and red LED flashes quickly to indicate it.

  2. Charging : Solid red LED indicates that the neckbands are being charged. (Note: neckband cannot be turned on while charging)

  3. Fully Charged : Once the neckbands are fully charged, it is indicated by the red LED getting turned off.

  1. Check if connected device does not have any equalizer settings applied. Go to the connected device's sound settings and set the Equalizer to Normal/ Default/ Zero/ None.

  2. Reset the device or clear the paired devices list.

  3. Check to see if the earbuds have ear wax accumulated. If so, please clean it with cotton swab and alcohol, after doing so gently blow dry it from a distance.

  4. Ensure that there are no obstruction between your Rockerz 280 ANC and the connected device and they are within the Bluetooth range (10 meters).

  1. Check if connected device does not have any equalizer settings applied. Go to the connected device's sound settings and set the Equalizer to Normal/ Default/ Zero/ None.

  2. Reset the device or clear the paired devices list.

  1. Reset your Rockerz 280 ANC.

  2. Ensure the microphone is not being blocked by any particles.

  3. Check to see if the microphone is being held at the adequate distance for it to be able to pick up the voice.

  4. Now check if your voice is getting recorded on a voice recorder to understand if your mic is working.

  5. Check if the microphone was not exposed to any hazards like direct sunlight or fire or to water above the resistance or dipped in any liquid.

  1. Check to see if the device has been properly charged first, till the red light turns blue.

  2. Check if the voltage of the charger is correct for the device, use only 5V 2A (output) chargers.

  3. Check if the device was not subject to any mishandling, broken wires or exposed to direct sunlight or hazards like fire.

  1. Check if the controls do not work while connected to another device

  2. Check to forget the device and pair it again.

  3. Check if the media player being used supports such controls.

  4. Check if the controls do not function on call or other media players

  1. Check if the pairing device has the feature enabled. Google Assistant or Siri should be enabled to use this feature from your device.

  2. Please follow the steps carefully, triple press the MFB (Multi Function Button) to activate the voice assistant; this should allow Google Assistant or Siri to pop up on the media screen of the device. Though under some circumstances, this feature may or may not work on some devices which may be restricted by default.

General FAQs

  • Power On : When switched off, press and hold the MFB for 2 seconds to switch on the earphones. The red LED flashes once to indicate this.

  • Power Off : In switched on state, press and hold the MFB for 5 seconds to turn the earphones off. Red LED flashes before the earphones power off

  1. Unpair/forget your neckband from the connected device.

  2. Long press both the volume ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons for 5 seconds at the same time. This will clear all the paired devices history from the device.

  3. Both the red and blue LEDs flash rapdly to indicate this.

  • Short press the MFB once to answer an incoming call or end an ongoing call

  1. Short press the volume +/- button in steps to increase or decrease the volume respectively.

  2. There will be a ‘tone’ when the sound volume reaches its maximum or minimum level.

  • Double press the MFB during an incoming call to reject it

  • Short press the MFB once to play or pause a track

  • Previous Track : While playing music, to go the previous track or start the track from the beginning, press and hold the Volume Down ‘‘-‘’ button for 2 seconds

  • Next Track : While playing music, to skip to the next track, press and hold the Volume Up ‘‘+‘’ button for 2 seconds

  • Triple press the MFB to activate Voice Assistant.

  • To switch on Crystal Bionic Sound, simply double press the MFB. To switch off Crystal Bionic Sound and enter the Battery Saver Mode, double press the MFB once again.

  1. Single press the ANC button to activate ANC mode that cancels out the unwanted background so that you can stay immersed in your music without interruptions.

  2. Single press the ANC button once again to switch to Ambient Mode that lets you stay aware of your audible surroundings, even during playback.

  3. Single press the ANC button once again in order to switch to Normal mode (ANC off, Ambient Mode off).

•Note: By default, before using the neckband for the very first time it stays in ANC OFF mode.

  1. To activate battery saver mode (turning off Crystal Bionic Sound+ANC), simply double press the MFB. It gets indicated by a sound prompt.

  2. To deactivate battery saver mode (turning on Crystal Bionic Sound+ANC), double press the MFB once again. It gets indicated by a sound prompt.

Note:

  • Battery saver mode gets activated automatically once the remaining battery goes below 20%.

  • By default, whenever you turn on the earphones, it starts in Battery Saver Mode.

  • ASAP Charge is boAt’s very own patented technology. It lets your device charge at an incredible charging speed (may vary under some circumstance) where 10 mins of charging can give up to 10 hours of playback time. ​

  • For ASAP charge to take place effectively, kindly charge the product with an adapter with TYPE –C 5V 2A specification.

  • boAt Rockerz 280 ANC earphones are IPX4 certified which means they can withstand up to low pressure water jet spray but cannot withstand being submerged in water. It is recommended not to use these earphones during swimming sessions.
