Troubleshooting FAQs

1. Check if the device is in pairing mode, indicated by alternating LED flashes on both the earbuds.

2. Ensure that the device is in the range of Bluetooth (usually 10m) and if there are any obstructions in between.

3. Clear all your pairing history and perform a fresh connection attempt.

4. If it is a passcode issue then enter 0000 / 1234.

5. If the issue still does not get resolved then perform a factory reset

  1. Check when both the earbuds are taken out of the charging case, the earbuds will enter into the Connection Mode, indicated by red and blue LED flashes.

  2. If one of them fails to smart power on, to manually switch the earbuds on (Manual Power On), long touch the CTC for 3 seconds on both Left and Right earbuds for switching them on until the LED light begins to flash in red and blue colours.

  3. Place the earbuds in the charging case and then try using them again. Check if it connects automatically.

  4. Check and see if hard resetting the device work as desired or not.

  5. Check if the earbuds are charging or not. If not then clean the earbuds and the charging case specially the charging pins and connectors with mild alcohol swab and see if it goes in charging mode or not.

1. Check if there are any obstructions between the earbuds and the device and clear them, move the device at a closer range to the earbuds and see if it still affects it.

2. Resetting your airdopes usually resolves this issue.

To perform a factory reset on your Airdopes Sonik:

(Note : Before performing a reset, go to settings and forget the device from your phone/laptop

  1. Place the earbuds inside the case in the correct orientation

  2. Long press the case reset button for 10 seconds; case LED flashes in green for 5 times whereas earbud's LED flashes in blue and red for 3 times simultaneously.

  3. Close the lid and wait for 5 seconds.

  4. Take out the earbuds from the charging case and perform a fresh connection.

Congratulations! Your Airdopes Sonik has been Reset

Resetting your airdopes usually resolves this issue.

To perform a factory reset on your Airdopes Sonik:

(Note : Before performing a reset, go to settings and forget the device from your phone/laptop

  1. Place the earbuds inside the case in the correct orientation

  2. Long press the case reset button for 10 seconds; case LED flashes in green for 5 times whereas earbud's LED flashes in blue and red for 3 times simultaneously.

  3. Close the lid and wait for 5 seconds.

  4. Take out the earbuds from the charging case and perform a fresh connection.

Congratulations! Your Airdopes Sonik has been Reset

  1. In charging status, the red LED turns on for 2 secs when case lid gets opened. LED stays off when the lid stays closed.

  2. Once the earbuds get fully charged, the charging case automatically switches off to save power, and the red LED stays turned off.

  1. Red LED on the charging case flashes three times the charging case is put on charge.

  2. Once the case is fully charged, the green LED becomes solid

  1. Check if the stickers on the charging points of the ear pods are removed or not. If not then it is to be removed and the earbuds will start charging once put inside the charging case.

  2. Check if the charging cable connected to the case is not broken, use other charging cable and also ensure that the charger being used is not more than 5V 2A (Output) as that will damage the case. The LED lights located on the charging case indicate the battery status of the case.

  3. Please ensure that the charging port is not damaged.

  1. Ensure that the earphone case is charged for charging the earbuds.

  2. Check to see if the earbuds have been put inside the case in the right orientation, the LED on the earbuds will indicate they are still being charged. This light will go off once the earbuds have been completely charged.

  3. Clean the magnetic connector pins on the case and connector pins (metal pins) on the earbuds with cotton or a clean cotton cloth dipped in mild alcohol, apply a medium pressure while cleaning and check the charging of the earbuds again. After cleaning wipe the surface with a dry cotton / cloth to ensure that no moisture retains over it.

  4. Now put both the earbuds into the case in desired orientation and close the lid.

  5. Once both the earbuds are charged, the LED on the case will go off.

1. Go to the sound settings of your phone and set the equalizer to normal/default.

2. In case the earbuds have water droplets, use the blow dryer to dry out any water from a distance.

3. If the earbuds are clogged with ear wax, simply clear the earbuds to restore the original sound.

4. If your device still does not get fixed then perform a factory reset

1. Check to see if the device has been properly charged first or not. A blue light on the earbuds will indicate they are still being charged. This light will go off once the earbuds have been completely charged.

2. Check if the voltage of the charger is correct (5V/2A) for the charging case and if the lights on the bottom are glowing to indicate the charge level or use an alternate charger.

3. Check by switching the earbuds on manually, long press the Capacitive Touch Controls (CTC) for 3 seconds until the LED begins to flash.

4. Ensure that the device was not subject to any mishandling, broken wires, exposure to direct sunlight, or hazards like fire.

5. Check if the charging pins of the case and earbuds have some dirt accumulation or corrosion and clean them with an alcohol swab and then put them back in the case for charge and the earbuds should start charging.

1. Check if the controls do not work while connected to another device

2. Check if the media player being used supports such controls and if the controls do not function on call or other media players

3. Ensure that the controls have not been physically damaged or exposed to any hazards.

4. Check if the control area has some sweat and oil as that might interfere with the capacitive touch control and clean the control area to remove any oil or sweat and the touch control should start working.

  1. Check if restarting the device resolves the issue.

  2. Try factory resetting the device

  3. Ensure that the connected device is within the Bluetooth range (10m) and there is no obstruction between the airdopes and the connected device

  4. If sweat or water has gone inside the microphone then try to clean it with a cotton swab dipped in mild alchohol.

1. Make sure that you have paired the Airdopes at least once to the device that you are trying to use IWP with before.

2. Check if Bluetooth is turned on for your media device and it has the Airdopes in the list of paired devices.

3. Try factory-resetting the device.

4. Check if your Airdopes battery case has charging in it to have IWP functioning.

General FAQs

There are two ways to switch the ear buds on:

  1. Smart Power On : To switch the earbuds on (Smart Power On) simply open the lid of the charging case (when earbuds are inside). Our IWP™ (Insta Wake N’ Pair) Technology enables the earbuds to power on automatically, get connected and enter into the connection mode.

  2. Manual Power On : Long touch the CTC on both earbuds for 3 seconds to manually power on the earbuds.

  3. After powering on, the earbuds enter the Connection Mode, indicated by alternate red and blue LED flashes on primary earbud and blue LED flashes once every 5 seconds on the secondary earbud. Once the earbuds are powered and in connection mode, it is indicated by red and white LEDs.

  • Smart Power Off :

  1. After usage, remove both the earbuds from your ears

  2. Place the earbuds back into the charging case in correct orientation

  3. The earbuds will automatically switch off (and enter into charging mode)

  • Manual Power Off:

  1. Long touch the CTC on both earbud for 5 seconds to manually power off the

  2. Once the earbuds get turned off, place them back inside the case and close the lid

  1. Answer Call : Single tap on the CTC of either of the earphones once, would result in answering an incoming call

  2. End Call : Once done talking, double tap on the CTC of either of the earphones once, would result in ending the call

  • Double tap the CTC of either of the earphones would result in rejecting incoming calls

  • Single tap either earbud’s CTC to play or pause music

  1. Previous Track : While playing music, double tap on the left earbud’s CTC would result in returning to the previous track

  2. Next Track : While playing music, double tap on the right earbud’s CTC would result in jumping to the next track

  • Volume could only be adjusted via phone/media devices

  • Long tap and hold CTC of either earbud for 3 secs to activate the voice assistants such as Google Assistant or Siri

  • Long touch for 3 seconds on the right earbud’s CTC will lead to activating Low Latency mode. It will be notified via a sound prompt. Long touch on the right earbud again for 3 seconds will switch back to the standard mode

  1. Both the earbuds can be used in mono mode. Use either of the two options mentioned below-

  2. Smart Power on or Manual Power on for switching on the desired earbud

  3. The selected earbud will automatically enter the connection mode indicated by red and blue LED flashes

  4. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone/media device and search for ‘boAt Airdopes Sonik’ to connect

Note:

  • To switch to Stereo mode, simply take out the other earbud from the case. It will automatically power on and pair with the previously selected earbud, hence enabling Stereo usage

  • You cannot skip tracks or return to the previous tracks in Mono mode

  1. Switch the earbuds on; a red and white light will flash to confirm that they have been switched on. Both earbuds will pair with one another automatically.

  2. The earbuds will enter into the Connection Mode, indicated by alternating red and blue LED flashes on the primary earbuds and blue LED flashes once every 5 seconds on the secondary earbuds.

  3. Turn on the Bluetooth functionality on your phone/media device and scan

  4. Search for ‘Airdopes Sonik’ and pair accordingly. Enter ‘0000’ as the passkey if asked.

  5. Your earbuds are now connected successfully via Bluetooth

Note:

  • Pairing mode lasts for 5 minutes. If the pairing time is missed then you will need to reconnect the ear-buds and follow the above-mentioned procedure

  • Airdopes Sonik remembers previously connected devices; once switched on, the ear-buds automatically reconnect to the previously connected devices

  • No, the voice prompts are integrated inside the earbuds and as of now there is no feature to turn them off or lower their volume.

  • No, the earbuds do not have any integrated volume control on them, the volume has to be controlled using your connected Bluetooth device.

  • Ensure that in the Bluetooth settings of your media device, you have enabled syncing of Bluetooth and phone volume levels otherwise you may not be able to fully control the volume of the earbuds as intended.
