Troubleshooting FAQs

  1. Check to see if the device is in pairing mode indicated by LED flashes on either earbud

  2. Try resetting the device once

  3. Check if the device is in the range of Bluetooth (usually 10m) and if there are any obstructions in between

  4. Check to see if the device being connected to supports Bluetooth connections

  5. Check if it is a passcode issue and if so enter 0000

  6. Check to see if the device being connected to does not have any software issues – Check to forget the device on Bluetooth, update the mobile software, if it still does not work try factory resetting the device

  1. Check when both the earbuds are taken out of the charging case, the earbuds will enter the Connection Mode, indicated by alternating red and blue LED flashes.

  2. If one of them fails to smart power on, to manually switch the earbuds on (Manual Power On), long touch the CTC touch Function Button (CTC) for 3 seconds on both Left and Right earbuds for switching them on until the LED light begins to flash.

  3. Place the earbuds in the charging case and then try using them again. Check if it connects automatically.

  4. Try factory-resetting the device.

Resetting your airdopes usually resolves this issue

To perform a reset on your Airdopes Drift:

NOTE: Before performing reset, clear "Airdopes Drift" from pairing device history by forgetting the device.

  1. Take out both the earbuds from the case

  2. Long touch CTC on both the earbuds for 5 seconds; LED flashes quickly for 5 times

  3. Place the earbuds inside the case, close lid and wait for 5 seconds

  4. Take out earbuds from the case and perform the fresh connection.

Congratulations! your Airdopes Drift has been reset.

  1. To charge the earbuds, put them into the charging case in their correct orientation.

  2. While charging, the white LED on the case flashes for 1 second.

  3. Once the charging is complete, charging case automatically switches off to save power and the LED indicator turns off.

  • To charge the case, plug one end of the cable into the case and connect the other end to a computer or a wall adapter or a power bank.

  1. Check to see if the wire connected to the case is not broken, use other wires and ensure that the charger being used is not of 9v or 12v as that will damage the case, The LED lights located on the charging case indicate the battery status of the case.

  2. To charge the case, plug one end of the provided cable into the case and connect the other end to a computer or a wall adapter. A LED indicates charging and LED stays solid on indicate full charge

Note: The LED indicator located on the charging case indicate the battery status of the case. The charging gets indicated by LED on charging case. Once fully charged, all the LED remain solid.

  • Check to see if the earbuds have been put inside the case in the right orientation, A Red led light on the earbuds will indicate they are still being charged. This light will go off once the earbud’s have been completely charged.

  • Try cleaning the pogo pins (charging pins) of the earbuds with an alcohol swab / use a cotton dipped in alcohol spirit. Once the pins are cleaned, put them inside the charging case and shut the lid. Now open the lid and check if the earbud LEDs start to blink.

  1. Before using the earbuds for the first time, please fully charge the earbuds with the charging case lid being closed.

  2. Charging through wall adapter – Specs of the adapter (Output Only): 5V, 2A

  3. Charging through cable/wire – Standard cable: 35 strands at 0.10mm diameter/strand

  4. Any other accessories could be used for charging the earphones if the above norms are followed.

  1. The connected device (phone/laptop) does not have any equalizer settings applied. Go to your system's sound/audio settings and set the equalizer to normal/ default/ zero/ none.

  2. Factory reset the device.

  3. Try to move the Airdopes closer to the connected phone/laptop and all obstacles in the middle should be removed.

  4. Disabling the equalizer also works when the distortion happens on different media players and different devices or only on specific ones.

  5. Check if the earbuds do not have water droplets, in case they do, use a blow dryer from a distance to dry out any water.

  6. Check if the earbuds are clogged with ear wax, and if so, simply clean the hearing net of the earbuds with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to restore the original sound.

1. Go to the sound settings of your phone and set the equalizer to normal/default.

2. In case the earbuds have water droplets, use the blow dryer to dry out any water from a distance.

3. If the earbuds are clogged with ear wax, simply clean the hearing net of the earbuds with alcohol swab to restore the original sound.

4. If your device still does not get fixed then perform a factory reset

  1. Check to see if the device has been properly charged first, A red light on the earbud’s will indicate they are still being charged. This light will turn off once the earbud’s have been completely charged.

  2. Check if the voltage of the charger is correct for the charging case and if the lights on the bottom are glowing to indicate the charge level.

  3. Check by switching on the earbud’ on manually, press and hold the capacitive touch control for 3 seconds until there is a solid blue LED for 2 seconds followed by a tone prompt.

  4. Check if the device was not subject to any mishandling, broken wires or exposed to direct sunlight or hazards like fire.

  1. Check if the controls do not work while connected to another device.

  2. Check if the media player being used supports such controls and if they controls do not function on call or other media players.

  3. Check if the controls have been physically damaged or exposed to any hazards.

  1. Our IWP™ technology allows the earbuds to connect to your phone if they have already been paired before, instantaneously upon opening the case.

  2. Simply open the case and ensure that the Bluetooth is turned on for your media device.

  3. The earbuds will connect as soon as the case is opened without the need to take them out of the case first!

  1. Check if restarting the device resolves the issue.

  2. Factory reset the device.

  3. Check if dust or ear wax has accumulated near or inside the microphone port, there is no blockage on the microphone. If yes then clean it with an alcohol swab.

  4. Check if sweat or water has gone inside the microphone.

  5. Check if there are any obstructions between the earbuds and the device and clear them, move the device at a closer range to the earbuds and see if it still affects it.

General FAQs

POWER ON:

  • Smart Power On : To automatically switch the earbuds on (Smart Power On) simply take out the earbuds from the carry case starting from the right earbud and then the left earbud.

  • Manual Power On : To manually switch the earbuds on (Manual Power On), long touch the Capacitive Touch Control (*CTC) for 3 seconds on both Right and Left earbuds.

Power OFF:

  • Smart Power Off :

  1. After usage, remove both the earbuds from your ears.

  2. Place the earbuds back into the charging case in correct orientation and close the case lid.

  3. The earbuds will automatically switch off (and enter charging mode)

  • Manual Power Off:

  1. Long Touch CTC for 5 seconds (Left & Right Separately) to manually power off each earbud.

  2. Once the earbuds get turned off, place them back inside the case and close the lid.

To perform a reset on your Airdopes Drift:

(Note: Before performing a reset, go to settings and forget the device from your phone/laptop )

  1. Take out the earbuds from the charging case.

  2. Long touch the Capacitive Touch Control (*CTC) on both earbuds for 5 seconds, one at a time, to perform reset. This is indicated by the red LEDs on both the earbuds rapidly flashing 5 times.

  3. Place the earbuds inside the charging case in the correct orientation. Close the case lid and wait for 5 seconds.

  4. Open the case lid and perform a fresh connection.

Congratulations! Your Airdopes Drift has been reset.

  1. Single tap on the CTC of either of the earphones once, would result in answering an incoming call.

  2. Double tap on the CTC of either of the earphones once, would result in ending the call.

  • Double tap the CTC of either of the earphones would result in rejecting incoming calls.

  • While playing music, single tap on the left/right CTC result in pause and another tap will result in play.

  1. While playing music, double tap on the left earbud’s Capacitive Touch Control (*CTC) to return to the previous track.

  2. While playing music, double tap on the right earbud’s Capacitive Touch Control (*CTC) to skip to the next track

  • Volume can only be adjusted via phone/media devices.

  • Long touch the Capacitive Touch Control (*CTC) of left earbud for 3 secs to activate the voice assistants such as Google Assistant or Siri.

  • Long touch for 3 seconds on the right earbud’s CTC will lead to Gaming Mode.

  1. Please note that both the earbuds can be used in Mono mode. Use either of the two options: Smart Power On or Manual Power On for switching on the desired earbud.

  2. The selected earbud will automatically enter the connection mode indicated by LED flashes.

  3. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone/media device and search for “Airdopes Drift” to connect.

  1. Switch the earbuds on; Both the earbuds automatically enter the Connection Mode

  2. Turn on the Bluetooth functionality on your phone/media device and scan

  3. Search for boAt Airdopes Drift and tap on the same for pairing & connect via Bluetooth

  4. To switch to Stereo mode from mono, simply take out the other earbud from the case. It will automatically power on and pair with the previously selected earbud, hence enabling Stereo usage

  5. You cannot skip tracks or return to the previous tracks in Mono mode.

  1. Low Battery: RED blink (3 times) when the Case lid is opened

  2. Battery (30% - 100%): BLUE blink (3 times) when the Case lid is opened

  3. Power On: BLUE light is ON for 1 second on opening the Lid

  4. Pairing mode: First, the connection happens between Master and Slave, and indicates with BLUE, then enters the pairing mode - Both Earbud blinks RED & BLUE during pairing mode

    Note: If Master and Slave Earbuds are not connected, it will act as an independent Earbud, and on both the Earbuds, RED & Blue blinks.

  5. Pairing successful (1 time indication): Solid BLUE

  6. Pairing not successful (In pairing mode): The same as Pairing mode, if 5 minutes later still cannot be pairing successful, then the Earbuds will show solid RED once and auto power off

  7. Earbuds in the charging box: In charging status, the RED light is ON; Full charging, the lights are OFF

  8. Connected: Blue light flashes 300ms - ON and 300ms - OFF, so 3 times each minute = the 20s per times

  9. Disconnected: The same as Pairing mode

  10. Fully Charged: RED light is OFF

  11. Play the music: All lights are OFF (But "Connected" status will remain)

  12. Factory Reset: Earbuds RED LED blinks 5 times

  1. Our IWP technology allows the earbuds to connect to your phone if they have already been paired before instantaneously upon opening the case.

  2. Simply open the case and ensure that the Bluetooth is turned on for your media device, the buds will connect as soon as the case is opened without the need to take them out of the case first!

  • There is no special process to enable IWP, simply follow the steps to pair your Airdopes Drift to your media device first, then upon subsequent usage the IWP tech will be enabled automatically, and the Airdopes Drift will pair automatically to your previously paired media device if Bluetooth is turned On, on your media device.

  1. Check if your Airdopes Drift model has IWP tech integrated.

  2. Make sure that you have paired the Airdopes Drift at least once to the device you are trying to use IWP with before.

  3. Check if Bluetooth is turned on for your media device and it has the Airdopes Drift in the list of paired devices.

  4. Try factory-resetting the device.

  • No, the voice prompts are integrated inside the earbuds and as of now there is no feature to turn them off or lower their volume.

  1. No, the earbuds do not have any integrated volume control on them, the volume must be controlled using your connected Bluetooth device.

  2. Ensure that in the Bluetooth settings of your media device, you have enabled syncing of Bluetooth and phone volume levels otherwise you may not be able to fully control the volume of the earbuds as intended.

  • While your earbuds do have a certain amount of water and sweat resistance (reply based on the IP level of the earbud) it is recommended that they are not submerged inside water directly or used for prolonged periods inside water like for swimming/showers as it may lead to damage.
