Troubleshooting FAQs

  1. Check to see if the device is in pairing mode indicated by white LED flashes on either earbud.

  2. Check if the device is in the range of Bluetooth (usually 10m) and if there are any obstructions in between.

  3. Check to see if the device being connected to supports Bluetooth connection.

  4. Check if it is a passcode issue and if so enter ‘0000’.

  1. Check when both the earbuds are taken out of the charging case- the earbuds will enter the Connection Mode, indicated by alternating white LED flashes.

  2. If one of them fails to Smart Power On, to manually switch the earbuds on (Manual Power On), long touch the CTC for 3 seconds on both Left and Right earbuds for switching them on until the LED begins to flash.

  3. Place the earbuds in the charging case and then try using them again. Check if it connects automatically.

  4. Check and see if hard resetting the device works.

Resetting your airdopes usually resolves this issue

(Note: Before performing a reset, go to settings and forget the device from your phone/laptop )

To perform a reset on your Airdopes 161 Probuds:

  1. Place the earbuds inside the case in correct orientation but don't close the lid.

  2. While the earbuds are inside the case, long press the Reset button for 10 seconds. A successful reset is indicated by flashing of White LED on the charging case.

  3. Close the lid for 5 seconds and then re-open it.

  4. As soon as you open the lid of the carry case, the earbuds power on and the factory reset gets completed

  5. Perform a fresh connection attempt and enjoy!

Congratulations! Your Airdopes 161 Probuds has been Reset.

  1. To charge the earbuds, put the earbuds into the charging case in their correct orientation.

  2. A solid Red LED for 2 secs will indicate that the earbuds are being charged. Once Fully charged, the LED indicator goes off.

  1. To charge the case, plug one end of the cable into the case and connect the other end to a computer or a wall adapter or a power bank.

  2. White LEDs flash while the case is on charging. When the charging case is fully charged, it gets indicated by solid Red LED.

  1. Check to see if the wire connected to the case is not broken. Use other wires and also ensure that the charger being should not have it's Output more than 5V 2A as that will damage the case. The LED lights located on the charging case indicate the battery status of the case.

  2. Also, ensiure that the type-C port on the charging case is not damaged.

  1. Ensure that the earphone case is charged for charging the earbuds

  2. Check to see if the earbuds have been put inside the case in the right orientation, and a red light on the earbuds will indicate they are still being charged. This light will go off once the earbud’s have been completely charged.

  3. Clean the magnetic connector pins / charging pins of earbuds with an alcohol swab. You can also use the ear cleaning cutips / cotton that should be slightly dipped in spirit/ sanitizer and after cleaning the charging pins, wipe them with a dry cotton to not let any moisture retain on it's surface. Now check the charging of the earbuds again.

  4. After cleaning, put the left earbud into the case in desired orientation and close the lid. The LED on the case will flash in red colour for 2 seconds.

  5. After cleaning, put the right earbud into the case in desired orientation and close the lid. The LED on the case will flash in red colour for 5 seconds.

  6. Once both the earbuds are charged, the red LED on the case will go off.

1. Check if the charging pins of the case are clear and there is no obstruction.

2. Check if the charging pin of the earbuds is clear and there is no obstruction.

3. Check if the orientation of the earbuds inside the case is correct and if they have been properly inserted inside the case.

4. Check if the pogo pins are clean. You may do so by gently cleaning it with cotton swabs and alcohol.

  1. Charging case : Red LED on the charging case flashes once the charging case is put on charge. Once the case is fully charged, the red LED becomes solid.

  2. Earbuds : Once the earbuds are put into the charging case in correct orientation, if the earbuds are getting charged it would be indicated by solid red LED. Once the earbuds are fully charged the solid RED LED indicators go off.

  3. Battery indication : When the earbuds have battery lower than 20%, the LED will blink in red colour to indicate the same in every few seconds

  1. Before using the earbuds for the first time, please fully charge the earbuds with the charging case lid being closed.

  2. Charging through wall adapter – Specs of the adapter (Output Only): 5V, 2A

  3. Charging through cable/wire – Standard cable: 35 strands at 0.10mm diameter/strand

  4. Any other accessories could be used for charging the earphones as long as the above norms are followed.

  1. The connected device (phone/laptop) does not have any equalizer settings applied. Go to your system's sound/audio settings and set the equalizer to normal/ default/ zero/ none.

  2. Try to move the Airdopes closer to the connected phone/laptop and all obstacles in the middle should be removed.

  3. Disabling the equalizer also works when the distortion happens on different media players and different devices or only on specific ones.

  4. Check if the earbuds do not have water droplets, in case they do, use a blow dryer from a distance to dry out any water.

  5. Check if the earbuds are clogged with ear wax, and if so, simply clean the hearing net of the earbuds with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to restore the original sound.

1. Go to the sound settings of your phone and set the equalizer to normal/default.

2. In case the earbuds have water droplets, use the blow dryer to dry out any water from a distance.

3. If the earbuds are clogged with ear wax, simply clean the hearing net of the earbuds with alcohol swab to restore the original sound.

4. If your device still does not get fixed then perform a factory reset

  1. Check to see if the device has been properly charged first, A red light on the earbud’s will indicate they are still being charged. This light will turn off once the earbud’s have been completely charged.

  2. Ensure that the voltage of the charger is correct (Output= 5V 2A) for the charging case and if the lights on the bottom are glowing to indicate the charge level.

  3. Check by switching On the earbud manually, press and hold the touch sensors /capacitive touch control for 2 seconds until the LED begins to flash in red.

  4. Make sure the device was not subject to any mishandling, broken wires or exposed to direct sunlight or hazards like fire

  5. Check if the charging pins of the case and earbuds have some dirt accumulation or corrosion and clean them with alcohol swab and then put them back in the case for charge and the earbuds should start charging

  1. Check if the controls do not work while being connected to another device.

  2. Check if the media player being used supports such controls and whether the controls do not function on call or with other media players.

  3. Check if the controls have been physically damaged or exposed to any hazards

  1. Our IWP™ technology allows the earbuds to connect to your phone if they have already been paired before, instantaneously upon opening the case.

  2. Simply open the case and ensure that the Bluetooth is turned on for your media device.

  3. The earbuds will connect as soon as the case is opened without the need to take them out of the case first!

1. Check if restarting the device resolves the issue.

2. Check if dust or ear wax has accumulated near or inside the microphone port, there is no blockage on the microphone. If yes then clean it with an alcohol swab.

3. Check if sweat or water has gone inside the microphone.

4. Check if there are any obstructions between the earbuds and the device and clear them, move the device at a closer range to the earbuds and see if it still affects it.

  1. Check if the pairing device has the feature enabled. Google Assistant or Siri should be enabled to use this feature from your device.

  2. Please follow the steps carefully, long press for 2 seconds and release, this should allow Google Assistant or Siri to pop up on the media screen of the device. Though under some circumstance, this feature may or may not work on some devices which may be restricted by default.

General FAQs

Power ON

There are two ways to switch the ear buds on

  1. Smart Power ON: To switch the earbuds on (Smart Power On) simply open the lid of the charging case (when earbuds are inside). Our IWP™ (Insta Wake N’ Pair) Technology enables the earbuds to power on automatically, get connected and enter into the connection mode

  2. Manual Power ON: Long touch the CTC on both earbuds for 3 seconds to manually power on the earbuds

  3. Both the earbuds will automatically pair with each other. The earbuds will enter into the Connection Mode.

  4. Once the earbuds are powered and in connection mode, it is indicated by red and white LEDs

Power OFF

  1. Smart Power OFF : After usage, remove both the earbuds from your ears; Place the earbuds back into the charging case in correct orientation and close the case lid; The earbuds will automatically switch off (and enter into charging mode)

  2. Manual Power OFF : Long touch the CTC on both earbud for 5 seconds to manually power off. Once the earbuds get turned off, place them back inside the case and close the lid.

  3. Once the earbuds are powered off just before that 1 second solid white LED blink will indicate the same

Congratulations! Your Airdopes 161 Probuds has been Reset.

  1. Answer Call : Single tap on the touch sensors of both the earbuds once, this would result in answering an incoming call

  2. End Call : Double tap on the touch sensors of both the earbuds once, this would result in ending the call

  • Double tap the touch sensors of both the earbuds for 2 seconds, this would result in rejecting incoming calls

  • While playing music, single tap on the left/right touch sensor, this results in pause and another tap will result in play

  1. Previous Track : While playing music, double tap on the left earbud’s touch sensor, this would result in returning to the previous track

  2. Next Track : While playing music, double tap on the right earbud’s touch sensor, this would result in jumping to the next track

  • Volume could only be adjusted via phone/media devices

  • Long tap and hold CTC of left earbud for 3 secs to activate the voice assistants such as Google Assistant or Siri

Both the earbuds can be used in mono mode. Use either of the two options mentioned below-

  1. Smart Power on or Manual Power on for switching on the desired earbud

  2. The selected earbud will automatically enter the connection mode indicated by alternating green and red LED flashes

  3. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone/media device and search for ‘boAt Airdopes 161 Probuds’ to connect

Note: You cannot skip music tracks or return to the previous track in Mono mode

  1. Switch the earbuds On; a red and white light will flash to confirm that they have been switched on. Both earbuds will pair with one another automatically.

  2. The earbuds will enter into the Connection Mode, indicated by alternating red and white LED flashes

  3. Turn on the Bluetooth functionality on your phone/media device and scan

  4. Search for ‘Airdopes 161 Probuds’ and pair accordingly. Enter ‘0000’ as the passkey if asked.

  5. Your earbuds are now connected successfully via Bluetooth

Note:

•Pairing mode lasts for 3 minutes. If the pairing time is missed then you will need to reconnect the ear-buds and follow the above-mentioned procedure

•Airdopes 161 Probuds remembers previously connected devices; once switched on, the ear-buds automatically reconnect to the previously connected devices

  1. Our IWP technology allows the earbuds to connect to your phone if they have already been paired before instantaneously upon opening the case.

  2. Simply open the case and ensure that the Bluetooth is turned on for your media device, the buds will connect as soon as the case is opened without the need to take them out of the case first!

  • There is no special process to enable IWP, simply follow the steps to pair your airdopes to your media device first, then upon subsequent usage the IWP tech will be enabled automatically and the airdopes will pair automatically to your previously paired media device if Bluetooth is turned on on your media device.

  1. Check if your airdopes model has IWP tech integrated.

  2. Make sure that you have paired the airdopes at least once to the device you are trying to use IWP with before.

  3. Check if Bluetooth is turned on for your media device and it has the airdopes in the list of paired devices.

  4. Try factory-resetting the device.

  • No, the voice prompts are integrated inside the earbuds and as of now there is no feature to turn them off or lower their volume.

  • No, the earbuds do not have any integrated volume control on them, the volume has to be controlled using your connected Bluetooth device.

  • Ensure that in the Bluetooth settings of your media device, you have enabled syncing of Bluetooth and phone volume levels otherwise you may not be able to fully control the volume of the earbuds as intended.

  • While your earbuds do have IPX5 water and sweat resistance, it is recommended that they are not submerged inside water directly or used for prolonged periods inside water like for swimming/showers as it may lead to damage.
